DETAILS OF TALKS GIVEN BY ANITA EDGAR-COLE
After driving aid trucks to Romania, Albania and Bosnia for 10 years from 1986, Anita went to Goa, India in 1996 for a two week holiday. Whilst there, she saw street children eating out of the dustbins of her hotel and begging on the streets. She had a vision to set up homes and shelters for these children and, through sharing her vision with a local Goan Pastor, the roots of El Shaddai were formed and shortly after was registered with the Charity Commissions in UK and India. In 1997, the first Children’s Home was opened with 34 children. Today, we have residential children’s homes, community centres, day shelters, an excellent school for our residential children, slum schools and many more projects taking place.
Anita’s photos speak louder than words. Now in her late 70s, she spends a month or so in Goa each year as it’s too hot which allows more time for her to give presentations here in the UK. Anita has been giving talks since 1986 following her first journey to Romania. She is a registered W.I. Speaker, has spoken at many Rotary Clubs, Probus, Churches, Soroptomist Clubs & U3A groups. She likes to bring a few Indian goods to sell too, with 100% proceeds going to the charity. Anita’s Autobiography, “Why Me? Why Now?”, has being published and is available through this website or can be found on Amazon. To receive a signed copy, click here
